Every year from October 15th to December 7th Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plans can be purchased. During this time, you can enroll, dis-enroll or change your Medicare Advantage or Part D plan. Medicare Supplements do not have an Open Enrollment period, as you can enroll or change your plan anytime throughout the year (medical underwriting may be required). When you first turn 65 and have enrolled in Part B of Medicare, you get a 6-month enrollment period starting 3 months before your Part B effective and 3 months after the Part B effective date. Those who receive Medicare at an earlier age than 65, will have a second open enrollment period when they turn 65.
